The Executive Director is responsible for managing the daily business, administrative, and financial functions of Aspen Flight Academy (AFA) to ensure efficiency, sustainability, and regulatory compliance. This role entails fundraising efforts, financial management, student scholarship programing, managing community partnerships, facility management and assisting the Chief Pilot in flight operations.

Operational & Administrative Management

• Oversee the day-to-day administration of AFA, ensuring smooth and efficient operations with a bi-weekly activity report for the Board of
• Manage student enrollment, scholarships, customer service, and communication to enhance the student experience.
• Develop and maintain AFA standard office procedures and a supporting office manual with all accounts, codes, passwords etc.
• Manage and maintain required records, audits, and reporting to meet regulatory
• Work closely with the Chief Pilot to ensure AFA operations align to support flight operations and asset management needs.
• Implement operational processes to improve efficiency and streamline
• Manage and update website and social media
• Manage and maintain the physical infrastructure of AFA, including office space, classrooms, and aircraft hangars and equipment.

Financial & Fundraising Management

• Develop, manage and report variances to Treasurer regarding scholarship funding and billing of students.
• Oversee financial planning with tracking of key financial metrics, including revenue generation and expense management, and generate reports report to Treasurer on monthly basis.
• Serve as the point person for the planning and execution of AFA’s annual fundraising gala, ensuring a successful event that strengthens financial sustainability.
• Develop and track sponsorship and donor engagement strategies to support AFA’s long-term goals.
• Support and assist in grant writing and partnership development for additional funding

Community Engagement & Outreach

• Serve as the primary liaison between AFA and local high schools to promote student participation, coordinate events, and foster educational partnerships.
• Represent AFA at industry events, community meetings, and outreach
• Develop and maintain partnerships with sponsors, donors, local supporters and aviation organizations.

• Strong understanding of fundraising best practices, donor stewardship and nonprofit organization principles.
• Strong leadership, recruitment and team management
• Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills to build trust with team, donors and board members.
• Strong organizational and critical thinking

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in fundraising, development or
• Demonstrated success in securing major gifts, corporate sponsorships, grants and annual fundraising contributions.
• Proven experience in financial management, including budgeting and cost control
• Management experience and ability to lead and inspire internal team members and external community members
