Research Specialist and Lead Administrative Assistant
“Honeywell Aerospace’s Government Relations Team is looking for an entry level Research Specialist and Lead Administrative Assistant to work on-site in the Washington DC office.”

In this role, you will work within the global government relations function, which is responsible for advising and advocating for legislative and regulatory policies that support Honeywell Aerospace’s business objectives; providing sales support for major policy wins and pursuits with government customers and state-owned enterprises; ensuring critical strategic relationships with policy makers; and enabling growth while minimizing risks. The government relations team is responsible for guiding strategic activities with the U.S. legislative branch, executive branch, and global governments, institutions, and regulatory bodies.
The ideal candidate must have strong organization skills, high attention to detail, the ability to manage executive calendars and address administrative tasks in support of a senior executive, an understanding of the federal legislative process, excellent writing skills, superior presentation development skills (e.g. PowerPoint), the capability to communicate complex information effectively under tight deadlines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the SVP’s calendar, schedule meetings, and coordinate travel arrangements
- Provide additional direct administrative support to the SVP on all topics, as assigned, and work with other Administrative and Executive Assistant’s in the company, as necessary
- Prepare and organize documents, reports, and presentations for meetings including agendas, meeting minutes, or other documentation as needed
- Monitor news, regulatory developments, and other activities and provide appropriate reports and summaries to the GR team
- Conduct research on legislative proposals, regulatory changes, and policy trends to support the company’s strategic objectives
- Lead in the development of presentations for internal meetings and external engagements with guidance from the SVP and GR team leader
- Draft and edit correspondence and communication materials for internal and external audiences
- Provide administrative support to the government relations team, including scheduling meetings, organizing files, and maintaining databases
- Assist in tracking and managing legislative calendars and deadlines
- Track and monitor federal legislation, hearings, and policy developments
- Summarize key legislative updates and provide timely reports to internal stakeholders
- Assist in preparing briefing memos and background materials for senior leaders
- Support Office Administrator functions, as necessary
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
- 1-2+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint, for creating reports and presentations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to convey complex information clearly.

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Connecticut, and Hawaii is $81,800 - $102,200. For Washington and most major metropolitan areas in New York & California, the annual base salary range is $81,800 - $102,200. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
