ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM

As the Senior Technical Analyst – Power BI Data Architect with specialization in financial data analysis, you will be pivotal in architecting and implementing Power BI solutions tailored for financial analytics, ensuring these solutions are aligned with our organizations strategic goals and capable of accommodating future growth. This unique role combines deep expertise in Power BI with a strong understanding of financial principles.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Architecture and Financial Data Design:

Architect and plan the Power BI environment with a focus on financial data analysis, ensuring compatibility with the organizations financial strategy and scalability for future needs. Establish and uphold data modelling standards, security protocols, and governance policies tailored for financial data within Power BI

• Financial Data Management:

Develop and manage efficient data workflows tailored for financial analytics, including the automation of data ingestion, transformation, and integration from our financial systems into Power BI. Optimize the storage and modelling of financial data within Power BI to guarantee rapid query performance and user access.

• Financial Reporting Development and Deployment:

Build complex financial reports and dashboards in Power BI, utilizing advanced DAX, Power Query, and data visualization strategies to provide deep financial insights. Engage with finance and IS stakeholders to ensure the Power BI deployments effectively support financial analysis and decision-making processes.

• Training and Empowerment:

Lead in providing technical guidance and knowledge sharing among team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning focused on financial data analytics. Organize and conduct training sessions for end-users to foster the widespread adoption and efficient use of Power BI for financial analysis.

• Performance Monitoring of Financial Analytics:

Regularly monitor the performance of financial analytics solutions within Power BI, pinpointing and rectifying any issues in data processing or report rendering. Proactively seek out and integrate new data sources and Power BI functionalities to broaden and enhance financial reporting and analytics, while also focusing on cross-functional reporting to ensure comprehensive insights across the business.

EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Information Systems or Data Science with a strong emphasis on analytics.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial data analysis, with a significant focus on utilizing Power BI for financial reporting and analytics.
• In-depth understanding of financial principles, data modelling, and reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in DAX, Power Query, and the creation of advanced financial visualizations in Power BI.
• Knowledge in programming languages such as R and Python for financial data analysis and task automation is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with financial systems and cloud-based data integration tools.
• Knowledge of agile methodology principles and using Azure DevOps for project management and collaboration
• Demonstrated capability in architecting data solutions that cater to complex financial environments.
• Clear communication skills, capable of mentoring and guiding teams with a focus on financial analytics.

• You have a proven ability to head digital transformation and reporting projects, this can be demonstrated by a portfolio of successful, impactful projects.
• You exhibit proficient data management skills, showcasing your ability to organize, store, and safeguard data effectively while ensuring its accuracy, completeness, and reliability for strategic decision-making.
