Job Title: SpaceX Telecom Technician
Job Description
Maintain and manage communication infrastructure to data servers, networking hardware, IP devices, and IT systems. Lead the architecture and build out the infrastructure to support HD-quality video. Develop and maintain high-performance video streaming infrastructure and related technologies. Administer the network video recording system and configure, develop, test, and implement appropriate codec settings for live video streaming.
Vital Information
- Location McGregor, TX
- Schedule M-F, 6am-4:30pm but Saturdays are normal (50-60 hours per week)
- Pay $30-50/hr based on experience and interviews
- Per Diem of $125/day for days worked is being offered (No Housing provided)
Responsibilities
- Perform analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex video streaming hardware problems and implement corrective solutions.
- Build and support the network systems including voice, video, and data, covering switches, routers, and the physical layer.
- Implement and maintain new/current UPS systems network capabilities.
- Maintain inventory of cameras, communications intercom systems, and test and calibration equipment.
- Responsible for the implementation and upkeep of the sites communications systems and video systems.
- Create standards for cameras, telecom equipment, communication gear, and other site systems.
- Configure and maintain security cameras and servers, which may include the security perimeter server.
- Manage contractors for trenching, terminations, and various installs, including fiber and copper cabling.
- Install hardware in servers, racks, etc.
- Document all physical layer network systems, communications systems, junction boxes, and camera systems using CAD software.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in cable, wiring, and blueprint reading.
- Experience in cable pulling, troubleshooting, and electronics component assembly.
- Ability to build, maintain, and troubleshoot site-wide communications and video infrastructure, including live-streaming systems.
- Skill in developing and supporting high-performance video streaming solutions, managing NVR systems, and maintaining large networks.
- Competence in documenting and maintaining physical network systems—fiber/copper cabling, junction boxes, UPS systems, switches, routers, and rack-mounted hardware.
- Experience using AutoCAD to document network and camera layouts.

- Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while maintaining a high sense of urgency in a fast-paced, challenging work environment.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, take individual initiative, and communicate effectively with peers, leadership, and customers.
- Ability to perform job duties that require standing, kneeling, crouching, twisting the upper body, working in cramped positions in small openings, and climbing hand over hand.
- Ability to work at elevated heights (up to 300 ft.) with proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Must be able to lift heavy objects (up to 25 lbs.) unassisted.
- Must be able to respond to emergencies to support priority projects, missions, and launches.
- Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed; flexibility is required.
- Must be able to work in extreme outdoor environments when needed, including heat, cold, wind, rain, etc.
- Position requires some ad hoc travel (about 15 of the time) to support other sites.

Work Environment
The position requires working both indoors and outdoors. The schedule includes days from 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM with flexibility as needed. The work environment involves working in tight quarters, with physical dexterity required, and may include exposure to extreme conditions such as heat, cold, wind, and rain. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is necessary for working at elevated heights.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $52.00/hr.
