Job Description

As a Journeyman Electrician, you will install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, power equipment, and components of machinery and equipment following electrical code, manuals, specifications, schematics, and blueprints. You will also be responsible for the installation and repair of control and distribution apparatus, including motors, relays, switches, and circuit-breaker panels.

Responsibilities

  • Install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, power equipment, and machinery components.
  • Follow electrical code, manuals, specifications, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Install and repair control and distribution apparatus including motors, relays, switches, and circuit-breaker panels.
  • Operate and maintain power substation equipment including transformers, breakers, relays, and communication devices.
  • Perform switching for configuration changes and isolation of high voltage equipment.
  • Construct and maintain pole lines, including insulators, switches, poles, and wiring at voltages of 138kv, 34.5kv, and 7.2kv.
  • Test equipment using specialized tools such as TTR, Ducter, High Current Breaker Test Set, and High Voltage Test Sticks.
  • Install, maintain, and operate fire alarm systems and security systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment using testing instruments and equipment.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit.
  • Operate facility overhead cranes, bucket trucks, man-lifts, forklifts, portable cranes, backhoes, and other heavy equipment safely.
  • Operate remote breaker tracking devices and Drymax oil filtering systems.
  • Operate and maintain generator systems.
  • Operate digger trucks for pole installations.
  • Obtain fire alarm certification and Class B Commercial Driver’s License.
Essential Skills
  • Experience with 600V+ electrical systems.
  • Possession of an Electrician Journeymans Card.
  • Minimum 5 years of industrial electrical experience.
  • Experience with 3-phase motors.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Pipe bending and tube bending skills.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics.
  • Experience with hand and power tools.
  • Knowledge of vacuum systems, cooling systems, and voltage distribution.
  • Experience in installation, troubleshooting, and repair.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.12 - $36.12/hr.
