Working at our Beavercreek Site:

GE Aerospace operations have been part of the Beavercreek community for over 70 years! Our Beavercreek facility manufactures gas turbine tubes, ducts, and manifolds, and also has complex machining, fabrication and investment casting capabilities. Product engineering, new product development and testing is performed on site. This facility also does repair and overhaul of tubes, ducts, and manifolds. We have been awarded OSHAS’s highest safety rating. 

Role Overview:

Provide engineering and shop support to business functions by maintaining hardware and processes. Primary functions include CMM inspection on production hardware, creation and maintenance of CMM programs. Additionally maintaining and performing scheduled fixture calibrations and repairs. Must work closely with quality, engineering and production to drive operation goals and delivery. Will be responsible for inspecting hardware to ensure compliance with engineer drawings, specifications and customer requirements.

  • Ability to read basic tool room hand tools (Micrometers, calipers and a scale)

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and blueprints (GD&T)

  • Setting up, operating and program CMM’s to inspect hardware for first article, in process and final inspection.

  • Generate detailed inspection reports and non-conformances when applicable.

  • Record and document inspection results in accordance with internal procedures and quality standards.

  • Experience programming CMM’s including scanners.

  • Collaborate with engineering, production and quality to resolve any issues.

  • History of hands-on involvement with manufacturing issues.

  • Good PC skills and CMM software experience (Polyworks)

  • Must be willing to perform within a teaming environment.

  • Must be willing to learn and follow all safety and EHS guidelines.

  • Ability to work with the design and engineering teams to help identify and troubleshoot possible hardware/tooling issues.

  • Must be able to multi-task and process multiple projects concurrently.

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will focus on programming, maintenance and operation of CMM equipment. A primary objective will be to identify and implement Lean Manufacturing opportunities within manufacturing cell to reduce manufacturing costs, set up times and improve overall product flow.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

  • 4-years minimum progressive experience in manufacturing positions. This may include but is not limited to tool building, production, inspection, engineering or other related technical experience.

  • Demonstrate initiative and willingness to learn

  • Keeps team informed of work progress, timelines and issues

  • Work closely with engineering and production ops to address any needs.

  • Must be able to read, comprehend and apply information from specifications, drawing, procedures and other quality documentation.

  • Ability to read and comprehend necessary forms. Can effectively communicate and respond to questions from team members, coaches and leaders.

Additional Information:

  • Wages 26.43 + per hour based on experience

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand at least 6 to 8 hours a day.

  • Must be able to work with upper body extremities.

  • Must be able to walk, sit, or stoop on a regular basis.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds on occasion. Items more than 40 pounds will be lifted with assistance.
