Job Description:

( Overview of Job)  This is a 4-month term with a May 4, 2026 start date.  Are you fascinated by how aircraft structures are designed, analyzed, and kept flying safely? This project offers hands-on exposure to real-world aircraft structural engineering, focused on understanding damage to aircraft structures and developing certified repair solutions used on commercial aircraft. The successful candidate will work on analyzing common structural damage, performing stress analysis, and developing repair drawings that restore airworthiness while meeting regulatory and engineering requirements.Key Responsibilities Analyze common types of damage found in aircraft structural components.Perform structural stress analysis to support repair designs.Design and substantiate aircraft structural repairs.Produce clear, professional repair drawings suitable for use on commercial aircraft.Project Deliverables Complete repair drawings for aircraft structural damage, supported by engineering analysis.Tools & Software Microsoft Office Suite.CAD software (experience with any major CAD platform is acceptable). Required Background Strong communication skills.Academic background in statics and mechanics of solids/materials.Understanding of aircraft structural components and load paths.Interest in aircraft structures, airworthiness, and how airplanes are repaired in service. What You’ll Gain Practical experience in aircraft structural design and repair engineering.Exposure to real-world stress analysis used in commercial aviation.Insight into how aircraft are designed, built, and maintained throughout their service life.Experience producing engineering deliverables used in operational aircraft environments.
