Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Aircraft Fitter / Mechanic to join a team supporting the A400M (Atlas) fleet at RAF Brize Norton.
This role offers the chance to work in a fast-paced military aviation environment, carrying out aircraft maintenance, repairs and modifications while ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with approved technical documentation and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will be part of a highly skilled maintenance team delivering MAA Part 145 aircraft support, maintaining high standards of safety, compliance and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities

Perform maintenance, repair and modification tasks on aircraft and associated systems.

Interpret and work from aircraft maintenance manuals and technical documentation.

Carry out light structural work and aircraft modifications where required.

Ensure all work is completed in accordance with maintenance procedures and safety regulations.

Maintain a clean and safe working environment following a “clean as you go” approach.

Accurately complete aircraft maintenance documentation and paperwork.

Identify and report potential safety hazards or unsafe conditions.

Safely operate aircraft ground equipment and tooling.

Support continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance environment.
Essential Requirements

Recognised aircraft engineering qualification (Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in an aircraft related discipline) or equivalent academic training.

Minimum 3 years’ recorded aircraft maintenance experience.

Current Human Factors, EWIS, and SFAR 88 training.

Knowledge of aeronautical regulations and aircraft maintenance practices.

Strong ability to interpret aircraft technical documentation.

Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal).

Must have the right to live and work in the UK.

Ability to obtain and maintain MOD security clearance.
Desirable Experience
-
Experience working on A400M, propeller aircraft, or wide-body aircraft.

Knowledge of MAA MRP Part 145 regulations.

Experience with AirNv or AMOS maintenance systems.
-
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
-
Ability to work independently and demonstrate leadership when required.
-
IPAF / MEWP familiarity.
Working Environment
-
Based primarily at RAF Brize Norton.
-
5x5x4 shift rotation (07:00–19:00).
-
PPE provided and required for all maintenance activities.
