Aircraft Systems Assembler C - North Charleston, SC

Schedule: Must be available to work all shifts based on business needs
Training: 8–10 weeks (successful completion is a contingency of assignment – includes OJT and/or formal classroom training)

Position Overview:

The Aircraft Systems Assembler C performs complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and aircraft systems. This role requires precision, adherence to detailed work instructions, and the ability to work with both manual and automated assembly tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install various aircraft parts and assemblies, including landing gear, control surfaces, exterior panels, carpets, blankets, roller trays/ball mats, stowbins, sidewalls, ceiling panels, lavatories, galleys, doors, and seats.
  • Install aircraft system components such as tubing, valves, regulators, actuators, compressors, and ducts.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and diagnostic equipment (e.g., multimeters, continuity testers).
  • Interpret and follow detailed work instructions, blueprints, drawings, and specifications in English.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality requirements throughout assembly processes.
Job Requirements:

Experience:

  • 7+ years in aviation/aerospace assembly or maintenance.
  • 7+ years using hand, power, and pneumatic tools.
  • 7+ years working with hydraulic and pneumatic system design.
  • 7+ years reading and interpreting blueprints and technical documentation.
  • 7+ years using computer applications (Microsoft Suite, email, internet navigation).

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work variable shifts (1st, 2nd, or 3rd).
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as:
  • Flexion/extension (head bent down/back), handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching overhead, rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting at the waist, walking, climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), crawling, crouching (squatting).
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 35 lbs.
  • Comfortable working with high-hazard chemicals.

Training:

  • 8–10 weeks of on-the-job training provided.

Top Technical Skills:

  • Aircraft structural and systems assembly.
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic systems installation.
  • Proficiency with hand/power tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Blueprint and specification interpretation.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Suite and specialized applications).
