European Test Services (ETS) B.V. is a joint venture between Airbus Defence & Space SAS and IABG mbH located in Noordwijk, The Netherlands.
ETS maintains and operates the environmental test centre of the European Space Agency (ESA/ESTEC).
European Test Services (ETS) B.V. is looking for a Thermal Vacuum Test Technician to join the testing team and operate within the ESTEC (European Space Research and Technology Centre) of the ESA based in Noordwijk, The Netherlands. ESTEC is ESA&39;s technical heart - the incubator of the European space effort - where most ESA projects are born and where they are guided through the various phases of development.
ETS is active in mechanical testing, EMC testing, thermal vacuum testing, altitude simulation and more. Besides testing of spacecraft and space applications, ETS has also become a major supplier of testing services to railway, marine and power/electric industry.
Your challenges:
To perform preventive and corrective maintenance as well as calibration tasks regarding thermal vacuum facilities (thermal vacuum chamber and related auxiliaries such as sun simulator, vacuum pumps, PLC, etc.) according to relevant procedures. As part of the maintenance process, the holder of the post will have to deal with suppliers.
To support facility modifications and upgrades. This includes to take an active role by proposing improvement ideas.
To operate thermal vacuum test facilities during test execution, including vacuum gauges, mass-spectrometer, TQCMs...This includes performing leak detection checks.
To perform activities related to thermal vacuum test preparation including mechanical test set-ups according to test requirements.
To write, review and update technical documentation such as maintenance procedures, test reports, calibration reports, etc.
To report directly to the Technical Manager Thermal Facilities.
Your profile:
The holder of this post should have:
An Associate Degree (aka DUT in France) in Vacuum, Cryogenics and/or Electrical applied sciences.
Experience executing thermal vacuum tests and maintenance tasks (2/3 years).
Knowledge of thermal process control and cryogenic technologies.
Knowledge and experience with PLC technologies.
Knowledge and experience with electrical infrastructure/equipment.
Problem solving oriented and critical thinking attitude.
Strong interpersonal skills, with a team player attitude along with the ability to work effectively in an international environment.
Availability to work in shift.
Flexibility and motivation.
Fluent English language skills; French and/or Dutch language skills would be beneficial.
This position requires a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
