Quality Inspector III (Level 3)Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Reports To: Quality Assurance Manager
Position SummaryThe Quality Inspector III serves as a senior technical expert within the Repair Station, performing the most advanced level of inspections, leading complex investigations, and supporting higher-level regulatory compliance. This role partners closely with the Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) and provides mentorship and training to Level I and Level II inspectors. The Quality Inspector III is expected to exercise strong independent judgment and uphold the highest standards of quality, safety, and documentation integrity.
Key ResponsibilitiesAdvanced Quality System Management- Lead internal audits, in‑process assessments, and regulatory compliance checks.
- Conduct full non‑conformance investigations, including root‑cause analysis and corrective action development.
- Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly quality performance reports to the QAM and senior leadership.
- Interface with customers, corporate quality teams, and regulatory bodies to resolve quality or compliance issues.
Technical Data & Process Control- Oversee the accuracy and currency of technical data systems and ensure alignment with organizational requirements.
- Lead change‑management initiatives tied to processes, documentation, and inspection methodology.
- Identify procedural gaps and recommend improvements to enhance quality, consistency, and efficiency.
Measuring & Test Equipment (M&TE) Leadership- Manage the health and compliance of the calibration program, ensuring alignment with NIST requirements.
- Troubleshoot complex M&TE issues and provide hands‑on training to junior inspectors.
- Support the development and implementation of advanced measurement and inspection techniques.
Inspection & Technical Leadership- Perform complex receiving, in‑process, and final inspections requiring expert‑level technical evaluation.
- Approve/validate inspection methods for composite repairs, materials, and assemblies.
- Lead teardown inspections and provide strategy recommendations for atypical, high‑risk, or high‑complexity components.
- Mentor Level I and II inspectors on inspection techniques, documentation standards, and regulatory expectations.
Qualifications- 3–5+ years of aviation or industrial inspection experience.
- Strong working knowledge of AS9100/ISO quality systems (preferred).
- Understanding of FAA 14 CFR Part 145 Repair Station requirements (preferred).
- Demonstrated experience with Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Action, SMS, and change management.
- Advanced technical background in composites, repair processes, and inspection methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to make sound independent decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and database systems.
- Fluent English required (reading and writing).
Working Conditions- Moderate physical activity; must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Frequent standing and walking for extended periods.
- Exposure to typical shop‑floor environments including noise, dust, and fumes.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Stockton, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.00/hr.
