Technician Assistant
Job Description
The Assistant Technician will assist the Level II NDE Technician with designated NDT method activities while gaining valuable experience and knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Assist technicians with setting up and tearing down of equipment.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks, calibrations, and overall upkeep of equipment and facilities.
- Assist with proper documentation and reports of services provided.
- Learn and abide by company policies and procedures.
- Operate radiographic equipment under direct supervision of a radiographer or radiographic instructor.
- Maintain constant surveillance and control of industrial radiographic equipment.
- Secure radiographic equipment from unauthorized removal when not in use.
- Prevent unauthorized personnel from entering restricted areas during equipment use.
- Provide required notification to safety management in case of an incident and offer assistance.
- Capable of being certified as trustworthy and reliable per NRC criteria.
Essential Skills
- Ability to learn NDT.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Experience in inspection, production, quality, and testing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Transportation Worker Identification Credential.
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to perform tasks and respond to short notice work assignments, including occasional out-of-town and overnight travel.
- Strong communication skills with clients, supervisors, and co-workers.
- Ability to read technical documents and engineering specifications is preferred.
- Proven ability to follow precise directions and procedures.
- Proven ability to adapt to an ever-changing schedule.

The work environment is half climate-controlled and half not, as the facility is expanding. The position involves working the third shift overnight.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
