A growing aviation organization is seeking a Director of Charter Sales & Operations to lead both commercial and operational functions. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, overseeing day-to-day execution, and ensuring a high standard of service delivery.
The position works across charter sales, flight operations, and aircraft management to support efficient performance while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience in both Part 91 and Part 135 environments.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategic Oversight
- Lead and develop teams across Charter Operations, Charter Sales, and Aircraft Management
- Establish short- and long-term plans to increase charter activity and support fleet growth
- Improve coordination between Operations, Sales, and Maintenance
- Own performance metrics including profitability, client experience, and operational efficiency
- Provide regular reporting on performance, risks, and capacity
Flight Operations
- Oversee trip execution from request through completion
- Support and enhance Safety Management System (SMS) practices
- Coordinate closely with Maintenance on aircraft readiness and scheduling
- Ensure compliance with Part 135 requirements and documentation standards
- Maintain audit readiness and reinforce SOP adherence
Aircraft Management & Sales
- Identify and develop new aircraft management and charter opportunities
- Build pricing models, proposals, and client agreements
- Represent the organization at industry events and through relationship-building efforts
- Partner with Marketing on lead generation and client outreach
- Track and manage pipeline performance and conversion metrics
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience across multiple functional areas
- Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management
- Working knowledge of Part 91 and Part 135 operations
- Experience with CRM and charter/operations platforms
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to translate data into operational and business decisions
Preferred Experience
- 10+ years in charter operations, aircraft management, or aviation leadership
- Prior experience with a Part 135 operator or aircraft management company
- Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Business, or related field
