Job Title: Leader, Operations

Job Description

As a Leader in Operations, you will play a critical role in supporting projects by preparing visibility statements of work, project schedules, and status reports. You will be responsible for informing management of any quality or process issues related to the aircraft, interfacing with various disciplines and divisions, and preparing presentations for management and personnel. You will also communicate urgent operations activities impacting the Final Assembly Line, including escalations, risks, and issues, while providing weekly and monthly progress reports. Building strong relationships with various departments and suppliers will be essential to your success.

Responsibilities

• Support projects by preparing statements of work, project schedules, and status reports.
• Inform management of any quality issues or process issues related to the aircraft.
• Interface with other disciplines and divisions, and prepare presentations for management and personnel.
• Communicate urgent operations activities impacting the Final Assembly Line, including escalations, risks, and issues.
• Provide weekly and monthly visibility of progress to management.
• Develop good working relationships with various departments and suppliers.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing people in the manufacturing industry.
• Experience in project management and knowledge of the manufacturing development cycle.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
• Logical and flexible mindset with initiative and ability to demonstrate both overview and detailed approaches.
• Proficiency in MS Office, including MS Project, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in an aircraft manufacturing or aviation environment.
• Experience in management within a unionized environment.
• Ability to work outside of normal business hours as needed.

Work Environment

Your time will be spent 60 on the shop floor and 40 behind a desk, primarily during the afternoon shift. This environment provides a unique blend of hands-on and strategic work, allowing for diverse experiences and personal growth.

This is a Contract position based out of Mississauga, ON.

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $58.00/hr.
