Responsibilities

This Fuel Management role is focused on the operational aspects of fuel supply, including into-plane vendor selection and performance as well as consortium budgets and project execution. Assist in developing, building, and maintaining financial models and analyses to support into-plane vendor selection as well as the annual fuel tender.

  • Fuel Operations: Assist in the liaison with Airport Services and Maintenance Quality Assurance to ensure the highest performance by contracted into-plane fueling companies and storage operators at each Spirit station. Timely response to issues, accidents, and emergencies regarding aircraft fueling.
  • Contract Administration: Perform regular contract administration including timely and accurate invoice oversight and monthly activity reconciliation. Provide contract analysis and negotiation support for new or expiring contracts. Assist in the annual fuel tender process.
  • Vendor Performance: Continual analysis for best business and safety practices and cost/operational benefit to Spirit. Weekly review of fuel delays, monthly reconciliation of reported delays, and publish the delay report against goal. Develop, communicate, and support a regular and consistent evaluation process and corrective action plan documentation.
  • Consortium representation: In coordination with Fuel Management, represent Spirit at assigned fuel consortia to ensure the highest level of fuel system operations and budget compliance. Able and willing to serve on consortium technical committees and/or chair/vice chair roles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Business/Finance/Accounting, Engineering, or Operations.
  • Fuel Operations experience (into-plane fueling and/or consortium operations experience preferred).
  • Possess a broad knowledge and understanding of executing and negotiating vendor contracts. Versed in into-plane, consortium interline, M&O, and fuel-related lease agreements. 
  • Understands into-plane fueling tasks, ATA 103 requirements, and fueling equipment performance. Versed in fuel equipment performance, maintenance, and capital requirements. 
  • Experience in setting and overseeing consortium budgets and capital project review and approvals. 
  • Financial analysis and financial modeling experience required.
  • Domestic and International travel approximately 25 of the time.
  • Communication: Effectively communicates in an open, candid, respectful, and consistent manner. Delivers verbal and written information clearly and concisely in a variety of settings and formats.
  • Must be a self-starter with strong prioritization and organization skills to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Domestic & International travel approximately 23 of the time.
  • Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
