Job Title: Product Marketing Manager

Position Summary:

The Product Marketing Manager (PMM) is responsible for all aircraft product spaneting activities for Piper Aircraft. The responsibilities run full spectrum: technical, competitive and promotional.

The position is an integral link between: 1) Internal Sales and Marketing teams, Dealers and the needs of Piper customers, 2) the realities of the competitive landscape, and 3) the Piper technical community, integrated product teams, suppliers and the overall product improvement process

Essential Job Functions

Internally and externally recognized as the focal point for operational, technical and promotional activities requiring new Piper aircraft and/or competitive aircraft experience and knowledge.

Represents the Piper Factory in all global sales and spaneting environments. Serves as a trusted advisor to all sales channels (global dealer and direct) by providing written, verbal and/or on-site expertise in support of the established sales objectives whenever and wherever needed.

Represents voice of customer and Sales/Marketing in all Piper internal Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) while working closely with Engineering, PMO and Customer Support in establishing and executing aligned product improvement priorities.

Utilizes broad industry and competitive aircraft knowledge to lead Technical Marketing efforts in the development/update of a complete Piper competitive aircraft comparison library.

Assists Sales, Marketing and the Communications group in maximizing media effectiveness by providing key insights into Piper aircraft features and benefits when leveraged against key competitive weaknesses.

Assists company leadership with the evolving product line roadmap for each aircraft when viewed against macro industry, technology and global spanetplace trends as well as tactically against emerging new and derivative competitive products.

Works closely with the Piper factory and Dealer Demonstration and Sales teams in the development and standardization of Optimum Demonstration Practices tailored to highlight each Piper aircraft when viewed against all competitive aircraft - thereby ensuring the best possible hands-on customer exposure to the aircraft in any demonstration environment/situation.

Minimum Position Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and Experience

Bachelors degree and five (5) or more years experience within the general aviation industry required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of and experience operating Piper aircraft models and products preferred. Experience and knowledge of aircraft sales processes is preferred. Preference given to candidates with demonstrated Technical and/or Marketing/Sales background.

Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of current Piper aircraft systems. Experience with emerging aircraft system technology and industry trends.

Technical/engineering acumen, either demonstrated through experience or through formal training and education.

Complete understanding of all applicable FAA regulations for aircraft operations and familiarity with the FAA aircraft certification process to include various global regulatory agencies.

The ability to proactively apply the above experience and skills in:

1) Understanding overall spanet needs/desires bounded by technical/financial realities, competitive capabilities and any potential certification considerations.

2) Translate those needs into tangible/quantifiable product improvements, and

3) While working in a dynamic IPT environment prioritize those improvements with the other needs of the company and the available internal capabilities/resources and execute the agreed upon product improvements on schedule.

Excellent presentation development, execution and overall interpersonal skills. A demonstrated comfort level in all types of sales/customer interaction scenarios. World class multi-tasking capability.

FAA Pilot Certificate required (Commercial, Instrument, Multi-engine) and a minimum of 500 hours total time.

Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite a working knowledge of Windows based computer programs, and experience with relational databases and CRM systems are required to perform the duties in this position.

Physical Demands

Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform and accomplish tasks. Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs.

Mental Demands

Enter required and desired mental demands i.e., Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, to include Excel proficiency, is required.

Interacts regularly with various staff and employees, and occasionally with vendors, suppliers, community members and regulatory agency representatives. Travel and overtime are required when necessary.
