Position Overview:
Boeing India Defense team is currently looking for Site Manager-P8I training to join their team at INS Rajali, Arakkonam.
Boeing is seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the operations of the comprehensive, full motion, P8I Training Simulator Center. This pivotal role involves ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the training facility, managing a diverse team, and upholding the highest standards of maintenance for P8I Training Devices and engaging in customer interaction.
Position Responsibilities:
Operational Management: Direct and oversee all daily operations of the P8I Training Simulator Center, ensuring compliance with Boeing standards and regulatory requirements.
Supervisor Duties: Perform duties as assigned by program management, supervising all site personnel to ensure training objectives are met.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-functional team of simulator technicians, IT/ Networking, Supply chain and support staff to deliver exceptional maintenance services. Foster a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement.
Maintenance of Training Devices: Ensure the effective scheduling, resource allocation, and performance monitoring of simulator maintenance to meet training objectives.
Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain robust quality assurance processes to ensure training effectiveness, and adherence to established protocols.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including military representatives, to assess training needs and enhance program offerings.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and lead initiatives to enhance training processes, methodologies, and technologies, ensuring the highest standards of training effectiveness and efficiency.
Issue Resolution: Proactively resolve operational, training, and human resource-related issues, interfacing directly with support counterparts as needed.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure that the simulator meets all safety standards, regulatory requirements, and quality control protocols.
Customer Liaison and Collaboration: Serve as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for customer and external organizations regarding all training-related matters, including scheduling and support for hardware, and software. Work closely with the Indian Navy (IN) to ensure that contract responsibilities and training commitments are met while maintaining high team performance and operational standards and exceptional customer experience.
Administrative Responsibilities: Manage administrative tasks related to maintenance of training devices, including user interface, record keeping, and maintenance of schedule of devices.
Subject Matter Expertise: Act as the P8I Subject Matter Expert (SME) for personnel and test events, providing insights for maintenance and corrective actions on the training device.
Performance Evaluations: Administer annual evaluations for Simulator Technicians, SC and IT focal ensuring high standards of performance and development.
Safety Representation: Act as the Safety Representative, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations. Promote a culture of safety within the maintenance environment and address any safety concerns promptly to maintain a secure training facility.
Liaison with Training International Program Office: Maintain necessary communication with the P8I Training International Program Office through the PM Specialist or the Senior Program Manager as applicable, identifying areas for improvement in training methodologies, equipment, and facility operations.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree is required as a BASIC QUALIFICATION
A minimum of 12 years of related work experience, with at least 4 years of Defense operational experience. Experience in aviation training, simulator operations, or related fields is essential.
Strong understanding of P8I aircraft systems or tactical flight operations, and training methodologies.
Relevant certifications in aviation training or management are a plus.
Prior PM experience of handling Programs of MNCs and Defence would be an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in aviation, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
Familiar with Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) or in a role requiring project/program management skills.
Familiarity with Boeing and/or DOD supply systems desirable.
Prior P8I or other mission aircraft field experience would be an advantage.
Experience in aircraft maintenance
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 13 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+ 12 years related work experience
