Job Summary
Oversees a crew of two or more technicians assigned to the Machine shop. Set up and run CNC machines to build fixtures per specifications using standard measuring tools. Responsible for monitoring and controlling shop tools and consumables inventory.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following.
• Carryout production, inspection, programming, and machine operation duties
• Provide instruction and assign tasks to technicians.
• Monitor work for quality and timeliness.
• Review drawings, and parts lists for accuracy and coordinates with other departments to resolve issues.
• Coordinate with quality assurance inspectors for final inspection and sign-off of completed tasks
• Provide supervisor with ongoing feedback pertaining to performance of assigned technicians.
• Assist in the coordination of daily activities with department supervisor.
• Review completed work and ensure that the final detail parts are protected from damage.
• Perform activities related to the design and development of medical systems in coordination with the AMC engineering department.
• Maintain equipment, work area, and hangar cleanliness.
• Maintain inventory of tools and shop supplies.
• Provide training for new or existing employees.
• Other Duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities. May provide guidance to less experienced staff and/or lead projects.

Education & Experience
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 10 or more years' of related professional experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One year certificate from college or technical school preferred
• Demonstrated experience of a fully competent professional, the level at which career may stabilize for many years.
Skills
• Ability to apply comprehensive knowledge of concepts and practices of machining skills.
• Ability to apply principles and procedures to the completion of difficult assignments.
• Ability to work independently to identify and resolve moderate to highly complex, sensitive or high priority assignments.
Equipment Used
• CNC machining centers, band saw, manual mill, manual lathe, inspection tools, related hand and air tools.
• Employee must provide necessary hand tools to perform duties in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
