Agile Product Owner

Job Description:

DPP is seeking an Agile Product Owner for an opportunity in Columbia, SC.

Location: Onsite in Columbia, SC. Potential to move to partial onsite once fully trained.
Duration: 6 months, contract to hire; W2 position
Residency requirement: Candidates who are foreign nationals must have resided in the US for at least three (3) of the last five (5) years prior to assignment to the client’s applicable government contract.

Position summary:

The Agile Product Owner will support the eServices Portal Team within the client’s eCommerce department.
This role involves working closely with developers, testers, and business unit customers to manage a large backlog of enhancements, ranging from updates to existing features to development of new tools.
The environment is highly collaborative, positive, and team-oriented, supporting three Scrum development teams of 6–8 people each.

Examples of work:

Support release planning activities for the eServices portal application.
Collaborate with developers, testers, and business stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
Write detailed user stories with clear and testable acceptance criteria.
Manage and prioritize the product backlog for the Scrum teams.
Participate in Agile ceremonies as the representative Product Owner.
Assist teams in coordinating feature development, enhancements, and modifications to existing tools.

Required skills and technologies:

Experience with an Agile ALM tool such as Agility or Jira.
Experience using defect management tools.
Experience with release management tools.
Indepth knowledge of writing user stories with acceptance criteria.

Nice to have:

Experience with Visio.
Experience with SQL.
Experience with Insomnia.
Agile Certifications (e.g., CSPO, PMIACP).
Experience with secure application environments, including understanding of authentication, authorization, and data privacy concepts.

Minimum required work experience:

6 years of IT business analysis experience

Required education/equivalencies:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or other job-related degree;
OR, Associates degree in CS, Bus. Admin., or other job-related degree plus 2 years of work-related experience;
OR, 4 years job-related work experience (total 10 years without a degree)
