Job Title: CookJob DescriptionUnder general supervision, this position is responsible for the preparation of foods according to prescribed menus and recipes. The role involves following established schedules and processes in cooking, sanitation, and related activities. Additionally, the cook is tasked with cleaning and sanitizing all food preparation equipment, ensuring they are kept in safe and operable condition.
Responsibilities- Prepare food according to prescribed menus and recipes.
- Conduct taste and temperature tests for each meal.
- Perform quality control by checking all fresh and prepared foods and their storage methods.
- Clean and sanitize all food areas and preparation equipment, maintaining them in safe and operable condition.
- Assist in developing new recipes and methods of preparation.
- Prepare food for delivery to other areas of the campus.
- Open and close the cafeteria according to department procedures.
- Observe all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations whenever business is conducted on behalf of the company.
- Work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Essential Skills- Line cook experience in a restaurant or cafeteria environment.
- Basic familiarity with kitchen and food handling processes and procedures.
- Customer-focused approach.
- Skills to maintain the flow of work.
- Interpersonal and written communication skills to interface with employees and accurately document.
- Ability to follow processes and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to work extended hours as required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Culinary training is desirable.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
