What does this internship consists in?
Together with Camilo José Cela University, Airbus has developed an exclusive program (DISCOVER) designed for those interested in the best training in new areas of knowledge essential to be able to develop as professionals of the future.
You will have the opportunity to study a Master, organized in three training blocks, that will allow you to DISCOVER the skills most in demand today. It will be combined with an 11 month internship at Airbus in an area related to your degree, where you can learn and complete your academic background.
The start of the internship will be in early October 2025, and will last 11 months (August disabled for all purposes). It is a full-time experience (40h/week), in which you will receive an attractive study grant.
Internship Job Description:System General Department is responsible for the system and structure development of the whole civil Airbus projects. Our department is a competence reference for the company with a big pool of engineer specialists required by the rest of engineering, manufacturing, program, quality areas to ensure the right delivery of the systems and structural components as well as in service fleet support.
Student Main tasks to develop
As a pool of different competences and disciplines the internship period will take profit of the different areas of engineering that we have in system general engineering department.
For Spain perimeter we will focus on the following ones:
●EMH / Electromagnetics Hazards and Lightning and Electrostatic protection
●Safety and Reliability of the A/C
●Software quality assurance of systems / equipments
●Configuration Management (ensure the right process and traceability for all the
modifications carried out in each aircraft delivered)
A more detailed description of the tasks to be involved within the department of Electromagnetic Hazards (EMH):
you will sketch the sizing of the MBN (Metallic Bonding Network). (Lightning current flow and spurious fault current due to equipment failure)
As the A/C is made of Carbon material (CFRP), a bonding network is needed. This bonding network has several functions, the most important being a path for fault currents.
Sizing the MBN requires a knowledge of the electrical loads of the A/C, but also how the electrical protection of generators works.
A more detailed description of the tasks to be involved within the department of Configuration Management:
You will have the opportunity to discover how all the modifications are treated and the workflow related. In this process there are many stakeholders involved as well as departments, thus this an unique opportunity to meet new professionals in different fields and areas as well as to contribute to compile a knowledge capture for the future config management candidates in this role. The visibility gained on such area is really important for an early career as it brings the opportunity to identify those areas more interesting or matching with the internship aspirations.
