About the role:
We are currently recruiting for Rostering Officer for GS Support Services in Doha.
As a Rostering Officer, you will be responsible for preparing and optimizing staff rosters, while overseeing all processes related to roster and leave planning. You will ensure efficient manpower distribution across business units in line with agreed engagement standards and approved budgets, delivering rosters that meet operational requirements. Additionally, you will enhance and streamline manual processes and drive improvements in roster planning for approximately 3,000 staff within the hub.
Key accountabilities include:
- Work closely with the Rostering and Real Time Specialist to ensure all business unit staff are rostered efficiently in accordance with operational requirements, HR policies, and the company’s strategic direction.
- Manage, plan, and execute all resource planning activities for Qatar Airways’ Doha Hub, aligning with strategic objectives and meeting operational goals and performance standards set by hub management.
- Provide short-, mid-, and long-term manpower demand forecasts, capacity analysis, efficiency optimization, and contingency planning.
- Ensure manpower is allocated across all business units based on agreed engagement standards and approved budgets to meet operational needs.
- Process roster planning using RMS planning tools to fulfil monthly manpower requirements based on the latest flight schedules.
- Coordinate with IT on system enhancements and implementations for rostering and leave management to meet evolving business requirements.
- Generate analytical and statistical reports on roster coverage using system tools.
- Maintain constructive communication with Ops management to provide solutions and address challenges effectively.
- Develop workable plans and document all rostering processes to eliminate duplication and redundant tasks.
- Maintain Rostering system SLAs in accordance with the engagement standards and Real Time requirements to ensure optimal results.
- Maintain and process periodical leave planning and ensure system inputs are maintained according to the latest requirements.
- Plan and maintain rosters for hub leaders across all business units to ensure operational leadership availability as required.
- Anticipate peak periods and special events, ensuring optimized manpower planning to meet operational demands.
- Conduct continuous analysis and shift studies using available tools to improve manpower utilization in compliance with current rules and regulations.
- Ensure rosters are prepared and communicated to staff within predefined timelines to provide advance notice and avoid operational disruptions.
- Maintain daily rosters and ensure operational coverage as per business requirements.
- Perform other department-related duties as assigned by the Head of Department.
