Job Summary:

The Senior Electrician is a licensed journeyman electrician who supports equipment installation, performs electrical infrastructure repairs, and manages power and energy distribution systems.

Essential Functions:

  • Journey level installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment, electrical systems and facilities electrical distribution systems
  • Install, service and repair power distribution systems up to and including 480 VAC, 3 phase, 60 & 400 Hz, and DC
  • Install, maintain and repair control panels, breaker and distribution panels, transformers, Motor Control Center (MCC), safety switches, fuses, breakers, junction boxes, receptacles, lights, diffusers, emergency lighting, back-up generators, primary power supplies, etc.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures and electrical codes
  • Estimate and manage projects including time and materials
  • Provide leadership supporting facilities and maintenance activities in coordination with Maintenance Coordinator, Lead, or Supervisor
  • Provide evaluation and feedback of equipment preventive, predictive, and condition based maintenance programs results to improve reliability
  • Maintain accurate records in computer maintenance management software by documenting activities and results contributing to future evaluation and improvement opportunities
  • Follow directions and work schedules according to the assigned Maintenance Coordinator or Supervisor and the work order processing system
  • Participate in hazardous materials and first responder team (HAZMAT - training provided)
  • Maintain clean and organized work space and equipment
  • Requisition and purchase required materials; Specify, procure, and maintain minimum stock inventory, and process purchase transactions
  • Support other team members in their primary job functions, cross training, and employee growth strategies
  • Support team activities and improvement efforts in Kaizen, 5S and maintenance and facilities events and practices
  • Supports team members including hands-on training, design drawing reviews, technical tool use and team projects
  • Additional tasks may include small tool maintenance and repairs, security badge processing, personnel office moves, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • 3+ years of experience with a 01 License working in a commercial manufacturing or industrial environment.
    • 7+ years of experience in an industrial, commercial, or manufacturing environment as a lead electrician is preferred.
  • Knowledge:
    • Knowledge of National Electric Code, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA70E), and local and state codes.
  • Skills/Abilities:
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Ability to work in team environments and with outside vendors/contractors
    • Ability to safely operate hand, pneumatic and electric tools and  safely and effectively work on electrical distribution systems and equipment evaluating, installing, and repairing using various trade tools including meters, clamps, crimpers, pipe threaders, pullers, etc.
    • Basic computer and math skills
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to work with other facilities and production personnel as a team on projects and to adapt to changing instructions or conditions
    • Good hand-eye coordination
    • Ability to climb and work on 12ft ladders and work from heights up to 25ft on man lifts
  • Education/Certification:
    • State general journey level electrician (01) and High School diploma or equivalent
  • Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Working Conditions:

  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
  • Manufacturing areas may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
  • Conditions include typical industrial environments including indoor, outdoor, and year round rooftop
  • Must be able to work at heights
  • Tasks may include the use of ladders, stairs, scaffolding, lifts, hand and power tools, meters and probes
  • Physical locations may require lying in prone position, kneeling, squatting, lifting, and occasional overhead reaching
  • Physical requirements include lifting, climbing, ladder work, forklift driving (training provided) and use of tools requiring physical strength and dexterity
  • Some work may take place in production areas where discipline is required to reduce distractions for other employees  
  • Some weekend and extended hours are required based on equipment availability and production needs
  • Standing: Up to 100 *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task
  • Sitting: Up to 30 *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task
  • Lifting (in pounds): Up to 50 pounds
  • Pushing (in pounds): Up to 75 pounds
  • Mental/Visual: Use of Computer
  • Workspace: Cubicle/Desk

Top Benefits:

Salary range: $39.42 to $50.53. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
