System Software Programmer - .NET

Job Description:

DPP is seeking a System Software Programmer to serve as a Senior .NET Full Stack Software Engineer.

Location: Role is currently remote, but may become onsite in Columbia, SC with no notice
Duration: 12 months with the possibility of extension; W2 position
Terms: Due to the Governor’s order, this position may become fully onsite with no notice. Candidates should be available to relocate to SC to start the onsite immediately if required.

Position summary:

This position is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting enterprisescale web applications built on the Microsoft .NET platform.
The systems supported include child welfare-related applications such as case management portals and protective services systems.
The role requires experience with visual interfaces, application logic, database design, and web services development on Windowsbased platforms.

Responsibilities:
Software Development & System Support:

Design, develop, and support enterprisescale .NET web applications.
Implement and debug subsystems and system components.
Write and execute tests for subsystems and components.
Participate in integrated testing sessions in test and production environments.
Review existing system designs and code to identify issues and recommend improvements.
Design and document subsystems and components consisting of multiple objects performing encapsulated functions.

Collaboration & Communication:

Interact with software engineers and technical leaders to understand subsystem and component specifications.
Recommend changes to support efficient and effective development.
Determine and communicate systemlevel implications for subsystems and components.
Communicate component requirements and capabilities within the context of the overall project and team.
Work independently and in groups to accomplish project objectives.

Technical Infrastructure & Oversight:

Support management of technical infrastructure such as repositories, build systems, and testing systems under guidance from engineers or project leads.
Support technical oversight activities using automated monitoring scripts.

Initiative & Performance:

Take initiative in performance and learning.
Work effectively under minimal supervision.
Perform tasks efficiently and collaborate with the team to ensure project success.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

7+ years designing and implementing medium to largescale software systems using Microsoft .NET architecture
5+ years developing datadriven applications using relational database engines
5+ years building and deploying webbased software systems with:
- Ntier architecture
- Dynamic content
- Highly scalable approaches
- Complex security
3+ years with the Angular Framework (version 15+)
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities:

Experience with Agile
Experience with performance, security, and regression testing tools

Additional domain requirements:

Child welfare systemsrelated experience
Clear communication skills
Technical or project management experience
