NTS is Hiring – Paint Technician II (Aerospace / UAV Work)
NTS is seeking a Paint Technician II in Columbus, MS to support aerostructures production, including UAV components and assemblies. This is a hands-on role for candidates with experience in aerospace, composites, or industrial painting environments who understand that high-quality coatings involve more than just spraying parts.
Position Summary
The Paint Technician II performs painting, resurfacing, repainting, surface preparation, and finishing work across multiple Aerostructures programs. This role requires strong attention to detail, ability to follow process standards, and experience working with coatings, primers, adhesives, and resins.
Key Responsibilities
- Sand, prep, and resurface blemishes on parts and assemblies
- Prepare, paint, and assemble products to required specifications
- Apply primer and exterior coatings to UAVs and aerostructure components
- Prepare adhesives, paint, resin, and related materials
- Read and interpret blueprints, process standards, and parts lists
- Operate paint shop tools including sanders, paint guns, and related equipment
- Perform minor composite repairs as needed
- Paint interior fuselage sections of UAVs
- Assemble and secure parts for curing processes
- Ensure paint equipment is fully operational
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Preferred Background
- Experience as a Paint Technician or similar role in aerospace, composites, or manufacturing
- Experience working with multi-component coatings, paints, adhesives, or resins
- Understanding of surface prep, coating application, and curing processes
- Ability to read and follow technical drawings and work instructions
- Comfortable using paint shop equipment and power tools
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 1 year of direct paint technician or related experience
Work Schedule
- Monday – Thursday
- 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Occasional evenings and weekends as needed
